If Paul Daley knew the consequences of his post fight sucker punch I think he would have re-considered his actions..
Daley had a bright future in the UFC to say the least. With two dominate knockout wins in a row, and fighting at UFC 113 for a chance at a title shot with Georges St. Pierre, after he lost his fight on Saturday to Josh Koscheck, Daley shattered his dreams along with his UFC career with one punch.
The cheap shot punch Daley threw after Koscheck’s victory was the last punch he will ever throw inside the UFC, Dana White announced that Daley was cut from the UFC promotion for his horrible display of sportsmanship.
“He’s done. I don’t give a [expletive] if he’s the best 170-pounder in the world, he’ll never come back here again,” White said.
“He’ll never come back. I’m probably the most lenient guy in sports and this is proboably one of the most lenient organziations. You know we’re all human, we all make mistakes, things happen. There’s no excuse for that. These guys are professional athletes. You don’t ever hit a guy blatantly after the bell like that whether you’re frustrated or not.”
This incident comes just weeks after a brawl broke out after Jason Miller interrupted a post fight interview with Jake Shields at Strikeforce. UFC fighter Nathan Diaz was involved in the melee, but no disciplinary action resulted from the incident.
